Ayurveda is the most ancient therapy globally, It has its mention in one of the oldest (about 6,000 years) philosophical texts of the world, the Rig Veda. The Sutrasthana of Charaka Samhita, a much referred ayurvedic text, says; "The three—body, mind and soul—are like a tripod, the world stand by their combination; in them everything abides. It is the subject matter of ayurveda for which the teachings of ayurveda have been revealed." The word Ayurveda is the combination of two words

AYU MEANS LIFE   +  VEDA MEANS KNOWLEDGE

Ayurveda is not only limited to cure the ailments but also teaches us to live in harmony with nature. Modern life often ignores the principles of natural livings

How Ayurveda Cures ??

Ayurveda gives us a model to look at each individual as a unique combination of three doshas Vata, Pitta or Kapha and when their ratio in body gets disturbed we fall ill and Ayurveda offers treatment protocols to fix back this ratio in same proportion.

Genesis of Cure ??

Everything in the universe is made up of combinations of the Five Elements (Pancha Mahabhutas).

  • Space/Akasha
  • Air/Vayu
  • Fire/Tejas
  • Earth/Prithvi
  • Water/Apa

The five elements can be seen to exist in the material universe at all scales both organic and inorganic, from peas to planets. When they enter into the biology of a living organism, man for example, they acquire a biological form. This means that the five elements are coded into three biological forces, which govern all life processes. These three forces are known as the three doshas, or simply the tridosha which regulate every physiological process in body.

The interplay among them determines the qualities and conditions of the individual. A harmonious state of the three doshas creates balance and health; an imbalance, which might be an excess or deficiency manifests as a sign or symptom of disease. The three doshas are known as

  • Vata ( Space and Air)
  • Pitta ( Fire and Water)
    Kapha ( Water and Earth)

One can think of these three doshas as fundamental biological energies, which regulate all the life processes of an individual.
